An example of this type of conflict is voting against the norm.
What is character versus society?
The most well known example of this type of literature is The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but the board game Clue is another good example.
What is mystery? (detective fiction)
This is an underlying meaning of a literary work; something the author wants you to know about humanity, the world, etc.
What is theme?
This is when the story comes to a reasonable ending.
What is resolution?
This type of text structure provides an event and shows what happens as a result of that event.
What is cause and effect?
This conflict was created by Hurricane Maria.
What is character versus nature?
These are stories that could have actually occurred to people or animals in a believable place and time. Examples include Red Kayak, Zach's Lie, Life of Pi, and the Outsiders.
What is realistic fiction?
This is the certain feelings or vibes in readers through words and descriptions, also known as the “atmosphere” of a literary piece.
What is mood?
There is lots of suspense. It also presents some type of conflict.
What is rising action?
This type of text structure shows how 2 things are similar and different.
What is compare/contrast?
This type of conflict is inside of the character.
What is an internal conflict? (character vs. self)
This is a story of someone's life written by that person.
What is autobiography?
This term includes entertainment, persuasion, informing, and expressing.
What is author's purpose?
Here the characters are introduced. We also learn about the setting of the story.
What is exposition?
This type of text structure tells the order in which events happened.
What is sequence?
This type of conflict is outside of the character.
What is external conflict?
Literature in which a story is made up but is set in the past and sometimes borrows true characteristics of the time period in which it is set.
What is historical fiction?
This is the attitude of a writer toward a subject.
