How do absences affect your eligibility for field trips?
Drivers/Monitors - being absent on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday will result in being removed from driving field trip(s) or extra work on that day and the following workday.
Drivers/Monitors - being absent on Friday or the last school day of the week will result in being removed from driving field trips on that day and will not be eligible to drive a field trip until the next school day.
Drivers/Monitors - being absent the workday before or after a holiday will result in being removed from driving field trips for 1 week or until the next school day following the holiday break.
You are running late for your field trip pick up. What do you do?
If during a school day, radio in to Trips to let them know how late you are running.
For any other time, call the Trips Cell at 214-870-1733.
What TIME & MILEAGE should be reported for a field trip?
The time & mileage should be recorded when you head out to START your pre-trip and when you FINISH your post-trip and any necessary paperwork.

What does the DEPARTURE TIME listed on the field trip paperwork indicate?
The time that the vehicles will be DEPARTING THE DEPARTURE LOCATION, not the time that you will need to report to the yard to begin your pre-trip.
What time do buses need to be back at the school on week days?
1:30 PM
How does the equitable field trip rotation work?
Drivers working less than 25 hours per week will get priority on trip assignments. Drivers working 40 hours per week will still be eligible for trips, however they will be last on the rotation.
Can drivers with extra duties and shuttles sign up for field trips?
Yes! We have a new middle school and will need lots of drivers. The chances are likely we will need you to drive field trips! However, drivers with less weekly hours will be assigned a trip before you.
You are the only driver assigned to a trip, you do not know where the campus is located nor the destination. What resources are available to you?
FIELD TRIP SPECIALISTS- we are here to help, no question is off limits. Come in and see us, give us a call!
GOOGLE MAPS- can be a great resource as well for researching destinations, routes, and campus locations.

What is the penalty for not completing an assigned trip?
Any driver/monitor that declines a trip once assigned (unless for unforeseen emergency circumstances) more than two times will be removed from rotation for one week. Any driver/monitor who backs out of a trip on the day of departure (unless for unforeseen emergency circumstances) will be removed from the rotation for one week. Any driver who is a “no call, no show” will be removed from the rotation for 2 weeks. Drivers/monitors may not trade trips.

What PAPERWORK needs to be completed immediately after finishing a fieldtrip?

Who plans the route if more than 3 buses are assigned to a trip?

Richland Highschool located close to Windsong and Artesia.
How does a driver SIGN UP for available field trips?
A GOOGLE SHEET will be made available to sign up for trips. Each available trip will have a separate tab with pertinent details about the trip. Simply add you name to trips you are interested in and available to drive.

HOW EARLY should a driver arrive to their departure location?
15 MINUTES PRIOR
Drivers should arrive at their departure loading locations 15 min earlier than the listed departure time.
Where is the FIELD TRIP SPECIALISTS OFFICE located?
SUPPORT SERVICES-
We are located in Room #127. This is the first office on the right once you enter Support Services.
We are directly across from the driver mailboxes.
What is the field trip bonus for transportation drivers?
$30 on school days and $50 on non school days.
What is the name of our new middle school and where is it located?
Moseley Middle School is located at Teel and Parvin.
You signed up for a field trip and are unable to adhere to that commitment and NEED TO CANCEL. What should you do?
CONTACT THE FT OFFICE as soon as possible.
Please make every attempt to drive trips that you have committed to, however, unforeseen circumstances do arise.
What is important to know about FUELCARDS.
NO PASSENGERS IN VEHICLE when fueling.
Download FUELMAN APP- to ensure service station accepts the fuel card provided.
A PIN # is required along with the mileage.
RETAIN RECEIPTS to turn in with your paperwork.
When a trip is cancelled how does this affect me on the trips rotation list.
It will be documented that you "lost" one of your trips and you will be at the top of the list.
We make every effort to replace your cancelled trip as soon as possible.
