Beginning of the story where the characters, setting, and time are introduced.
What is the exposition?
An artificial decoration and building of a set.
What is the set design?
The "bad guy" and villain of the story.
What is the antagonist?
The camera moves along a designated track to capture the shot.
What is tracking?
Dark lighting that creates shadow and suspense.
What is lowkey lighting?
This is when there are events leading up to climax and where the hero either is at their highest or their lowest point.
What is the rising action?
Clothing that actors portraying characters wear.
What are costumes?
Characters that help the hero or villain accomplish their goal.
What are the supporting characters?
The camera is held by someone while filming instead of mounted on a stand or track.
What is hand-held?
Using both light and dark lighting.
What is contrast?
The turning point of the story where there is the greatest suspense and action.
What is the climax?
Makeup, hair, and other touch-ups to an actor's body and face.
What are cosmetics?
A clip or shot from the waist up.
What is a medium shot?
A large machine that holds the camera up high or low to capture shots from a distance.
What is a crane?
A controlled technique of lighting that places light at a certain angle to cast a shadow and add suspense.
What is back lighting?
The outcome of the climax is seen and the conflict is resolved.
What is the falling action?
Items used by actors in a scene.
What are props?
A clip or shot that focuses on the actor's head and facial expressions.
What is a close-up shot?
An angle shot that can make smaller people look bigger.
What is a low angle?
Using light to make it seem that there is no background and that the character is in an endless space.
What is limbo lighting?
The story gets resolved and there is a farewell of some kind.
