High angle
Taken from the POV of the character, the audience sees what they see. Usually when a new scene starts or when a scene ends.
Point of View Shot
The big picture. such as a full body shot or establishing shots of a city often used in the beginning of a movie or scene.
Long Shot
when the camera is aimed up at a subject
low angle
A translation device where one image fades out while a second image fades in to replace it. Often used to establish the passage of time.
Dissolve
A very close shot of detail fills the screen with something like a person's eyes.
Extreme Close Up
A shot in which the camera is on the same level as the subject of the picture
Flat angle/Eye-level
Instant change one scene to another.
Cut
when the subject fills the frame, ex: a shot of someone's face
Close Up
A camera angle that is purposely slanted on one side, sometimes used for dramatic effect.
Canted/Tilted angle
A line passes across the screen, changing images - they do NOT blend.
Wipe
Shows the effect of someone's words or actions have on another
