Jacob's Dream
0

By now we have come to know Abraham and Sarah, who had children named Ishmael and Isaac. Isaac went on to have two boys who were named Esau and Jacob. Jacob and his mother Rebekah go on to trick Isaac, which allows Jacob to steal his brother's Esau blessing. Jacob is eventually told to flee his country to keep from being killed by his brother Esau. During his journey, Jacob stopped for the night at a place where he had a dream that has come to be known as Jacob's Ladder. When he awoke, Jacob named the place where we had slept Bethel.

Final Jeopardy Question: Bethel the city used to have another name. Before Jacob named the city Bethel, what did it used to be called?

Hint: Genesis 28

18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. 19 He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz.
