One number is 5 more than another number. Three times the greater plus twice the lesser is 30. Determine their numbers.
8 and 3
x = y + 5
3x + 2y = 30
3(y+5) + 2y = 30
3y + 15 + 2y = 30
5y + 15 = 30
5y = 30 - 15
5y = 15
5y = 15/5y
y = 3
x = (3 + 5)
x = 8
