Probably! Getting a job allows you to meet new people, buy the things that you need and want, and be proud of doing work.
What is a dress code?
A dress code is the way that you are supposed to dress for something. If your job requires black pants, a polo shirt, and an apron, you must wear these things (and they must be clean).
I am working at the cash register. I see a customer that I might like to ask out on a date. Should I do it?
No! You have to be professional at work! Asking out a customer or coworker at work might make them feel uncomfortable. Don't do something like this at work.

Is a newspaper a good place to look for a job?
Yes! You can look in the classifieds section of the newspaper under help wanted ads. There are newspapers that are in paper or online like The Washington Post.
I don't like waking up early. Is it still possible to get a job?
Yes! You may have to look a little harder, but you can search for jobs that have afternoon or evening hours. It is good to know what you like or need first before looking for a job.
I don't get along with any of my coworkers and have not for a long time. Everyone else gets along well. Will I likely be able to keep my job?
Probably not. You will probably be known as a difficult person and this will come up during your evaluations with your supervisor. If you don't change your behaviors after an evaluation, you may be let go.
I really like the honey mustard packets that we have at work. I have leftover chicken tenders in the fridge at home. Should I take a bunch of packets of honey mustard home with me without paying for them?
No! This is considered theft, or stealing. If you really like the sauce, you might be able to buy some from work, the grocery store, or even on Amazon. It is important to remember that your jobsite is not the grocery store.

Can I find a job online?
Maybe! You could look at websites like Monster, USAJOBS, Twitter, Facebook, and government website. Talk to your family first about responding to online jobs.
Can I help other people in life and get paid for it as a job?
Absolutely! People like doctors, social workers, and other professions help people every day and get paid! You could work at a school, a shelter, or other places and really make a positive difference in someone's life!
I get to use a computer at work. Most of the day I look at Facebook and ESPN. Is this ok?
Nope! Eventually you will be caught and you may get fired. Sometimes people call this stealing or theft of time-doing something else when you are supposed to be on the clock like taking a nap.
A new employee is confused about how to do something and doesn't know how. Should I help them?
Yes! It is good to help other people out if you have the time. Sometimes it only takes a few seconds. But if it is going to take a long time, let your supervisor know and let them know about the problem.

What are open interviews?
It is when a business decides on certain days that people looking for jobs can just stop in for an on the spot interview. An example could be Giant having open interviews every Tuesday from 12-4 pm.
Will I learn how to be more social with others?
Yes! You will have a lot more interactions with people-both coworkers and customers. Just like anything else you do, you get better with more practice.
M work area is a mess. I leave my old lunches in the office fridge for weeks and they get moldy. Papers from my desk fall on the floor and on the desks of my coworkers. Is this ok?
No! Just like we need to respect other people, we also need to respect property and our work environment. If you don't do that, you may get fired.
I am stocking shelves and a customer comes up to me yelling and cursing. Should I yell and curse back?
No-never! You cannot yell or curse at anyone at work. If you are very upset, you can ask to take a break. This rarely happens, but one day you could find yourself in this situation.

It is when a business or group of businesses have a hiring event. The meet with people who are looking for work, take their resumes, and sometimes have on the spot interviews.
Do I have to keep the same job forever?
No! You can if you like, but most people try different things to see what they like. Or they may just want a job with better benefits and pay.
If you really don't like a job, then you should try another!
Should I have inappropriate conversations about women-even if I don't get specific or use profanity-at work or school?
No! It makes people, in this case women, feel uncomfortable! If this is something you have been doing, then you have probably made someone feel uncomfortable (and that is wrong).
My friends suddenly decide to go on a road trip for several days. My supervisor won't let me take vacation time to go. Should I go on the road trip anyway?
No! You will probably get fired for this! You just have to accept that sometimes job responsibilities are more important than what you would like to for fun.
