What is internal bleeding?

occurs when the body's cooling system is completely overwhelmed and stops working

What is a seizure?
skill used when a person is in cardiac arrest to keep oxygenated blood moving to the brain and other vital organs until medical help arrives

What is step 1 to taking action?
a cut commonly caused by a sharp object such as broken glass or a knife
What is a laceration?
an injury caused by freezing of the skin and underlying tissues as a result of prolonged exposure to freezing or subfreezing temperatures
What is frostbite?
uncontrolled body movements caused by contraction of the muscles
What is convulsions?
a surgically created opening in the front of the neck that opens into the trachea to form an alternate route for breathing when the upper airway is blocked or damaged
What is a tracheostomy?
call 911 or the designated emergency number
What is step 2 to taking action?
wound that occurs when a portion of the skin is partially or completely torn
What is an avulsion?
any substance that causes injury, illness or death if it enters the body
occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted by a blood clot resulting in the death of brain cells
What is a stroke?
can correct the underlying problem for some people who go into sudden cardiac arrest
