What are the cafeteria expectations?
Use good manners! Clean up after yourself. Helpers will need to choose a friend, and these four people will wash tables and sweep. We do NOT talk once we stand to throw away trash and line up!
Quarterly Behavior Incentive
Every nine weeks, there will be a schoolwide reward for students with at least 80% positive dojos. The first reward has already been planned! We will have a Halloween "Monster Mash" dance in the gym in October! You'll get to enjoy popcorn, a drink, and time outside of class with your friends!
Do we have class helpers?
Yes - two helpers each week. One boy, one girl. One third grader, one fourth grader.
How do we line up and move through the hallway?
I bet you already know from K-2 years! I want our lines to be three things - SILENT, FORWARD FACING, and FEET IN A SQUARE. Keep hands and feet to yourself (not on the walls, bulletin boards, or each other).

Will we have homework?
Yes, a little on most nights.
Starting NEXT week, we will have Math and Reading homework. I'll explain details next week, but know that completing your homework is important! You'll always keep homework in the BLUE homework folder. The green folder is for unfinished classwork.
Ordering Lunches
You'll need to move your magnet each morning to let me know what you want for lunch, even if you packed a lunch. Classroom helpers will move the magnets back at the end of the day. If you come in to school late, please try to remember to tell me what you'd like for lunch so I can call in your order.
YES!!! Please borrow and READ my books! You may check out ONE book at a time from my classroom library. There will be a check out log, and you will need to sign the book out, then return it and sign it in when you are finished. Please help me keep the classroom library NEAT and take care of my books. You may take your book home as long as you bring it back.
Pencils
You may use mechanical pencils as long as you are mature and responsible with them. This means you are NOT playing with them, clicking repeatedly, or breaking pieces of lead in your desk. If I see this, you will get ONE WARNING. If it happens again, you will lose the privilege to use mechanical pencils.
Do not interrupt class over a pencil. If yours runs out of lead or breaks, you may put it in the "please sharpen or refill" basket and get a different pencil. You should always have an extra in your zipper pouch, but if you don't, ask a neighbor or borrow one from the extra pencils cup.
