What do you build your life on and measure your choices by?

Jesus Christ. Make Jesus Christ your standard, your rock-solid foundation. Build your life on His teachings, and measure your choices by them. The covenants you make at baptism, during the sacrament, and in the temple are the building blocks of your firm foundation in Christ.

100

Why were you joyful in accepting the plan of salvation?

It would help you grow and progress to become more like God by receiving a physical body, being part of an earthly family, and experiencing life on earth.

What is one of the most valuable skills you can gain?

Learning to recognize how the Holy Ghost speaks to you is one of the most valuable skills you can gain.

How does the Holy Ghost speak to us?

The Holy Ghost speaks to your mind and heart. Messages from the Spirit can come to your mind in many ways—through inspired thoughts, warnings, clear understanding, and spiritual memories. The Holy Ghost can speak to your heart through uplifting feelings like comfort, confidence, peace, love, joy, humility, gratitude, and patience.

In the scriptures; daily

Jesus Christ; twice

500

What does the book say about the purpose of the FSOY?

The purpose of For the Strength of Youth is not to give you a “yes” or “no” about every possible choice you might face. Instead, the Lord is inviting you to live in a higher and holier way—a life focused on eternal truths and the Lord’s promised blessings. This is His way. This guide will teach you about His way. It explains truths He has revealed. Make these truths your guide for making choices—big choices, like making covenants in the temple and serving a mission, as well as daily choices, like how to treat people or how to spend your time.

500

How can you find strength when life is hard?

Hard times can help you grow and progress as you turn to the Savior. There is nothing you’re going through that Jesus Christ doesn’t understand because of His atoning sacrifice. He knows exactly how to help you. Focus your life on Him, and He will lift you above all doubts and fears.
