Professor Sprout was standing behind a trestle bench in the center of the greenhouse. About twenty pairs of different-colored earmuffs were lying on the bench. When Harry had taken his place between Ron and Hermione, she said, We'll be repotting Mandrakes today." -Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

"It's going to kill someone!" he shouted. -Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The entire question. Challenge: what is going on at this point of the story?

After they left, Black Stache turned his eyes to his model ships. He put his hand gently, almost lovingly, on the model of the Sea Devil. Slowly, he moved it forward until it touched the Wasp. He kept pushing until the Wasp reached the edge of the table. Then, smiling, he gave it a vicious shove; the Wasp model fell, its delicate hull smashing into pieces on the floor. Black Stache laughed, his breathe further befouling the rancid cabin air. Then he stood and, stepping on the remains of the Wasp, stalked out of the cabin. Time for the kill. -Peter and the Starcatchers
Time for the kill is the answer, but Black Stache destroying the Wasp was also foreshadowing.

Following the navigator to the deck, Stache saw it instantly: a dark roiling mass of clouds spreading across the horizen, already huge, and growing. Growing fast. Black Stache had spent his life at sea; he had long believed that he'd faced the worst that the sea could hurl at him, and that he had nothing more to fear. But seeing this thing coming toward him now, Black Stache, for just a moment, was afraid. -Peter and the Starcatchers
Storms are a sign of foreshadowing, but Black Stache being afraid of it means that this storm is terrible and it symbolizes something terrible to happen after, later in the story.

Then she made a decision--Peter saw it happen--and her expression was grim again. She's going to say Ten, thought Peter. She's going to scream. Molly opened her mouth. "All right," she said. "I'll tell you." -Peter and the Starcatchers
Peter's thoughts are foreshadowing.

"He must, Peter. He must have been after the Wasp for that reason. He was fooled just as Father was. But now Father's lost at sea somewhere, and the Black Mustache is coming for the trunk. He's coming, Peter." "Molly," said Peter, "if he gets that trunk..." "I know," she said. "I know. Peter, we must stop him." Peter nodded. She was right. They had to stop him. But how? -Peter and the Starcatchers
Molly saying and telling the reader exactly what will happen, saying that Black Stache is coming is foreshadowing.

Peter saw it all slowly, as of in a dream--the face coming closer, the hamlike fists closing violently on his shirt. He felt himself lifted high in the air, and he had a momentary glimpse of the horror on Molly's face as Slank hurled him, with all his strength, over the side of the Never Land, toward the raging sea. -Peter and the Starcatchers
Readers want to know what will happen after Peter gets thrown overboard into the sea. This is foreshadowing.
