Because trees block most of the sunlight and the area stays wet and humid.
Why are the rainforests called "the lungs of the Earth"?
Because they produce a lot of oxygen and help regulate the climate.

They adapt by changing behaviour, migraing, or preparing for seasonal changes.
Why can water stay frozen in boreal forests all year round?
Because temperatures are extremely low and winter conditions last for a long time.
