Life after the war?

In exchange for their efforts the wanted citizenship for all Native People and respect for native lands. Congress granted citizenship in 1924, but Native people would have to fight in other American wars before the federal government adopted a policy of tribal self-determination.

After the war, they were still discriminated against and weren't recognized as veterans until later on.
