The Crisis Number is to be used when the office is closed. Crisis situations include, but are not limited to, the following: Runaways; Suicide Attempts or Threats; Criminal activity; Dangerous or highly unusual behaviors or tantrums; Serious injuries or medical condition; and Failure to return from a biological family visit.

Who needs a background check in your home?
All household members over the age of 12. Fingerprints will need to be done only for initial approval to be a foster parent, and then for any child reaching the age of 18 while a foster home. Alternative caregivers will also need yearly background checks, but not fingerprints.

Provide info about the child’s conditions, including medical, physical, emotional and behavior (this doesn’t mean revealing the diagnosis)

Ensure the caretaker is aware of medication that needs to be administered to the child during the time the child is being supervised by the caretaker

Provide emergency contact info that is valid during the time the foster child is being supervised by the caretaker , Address and phone number , Location of FPs if emergency arises , Cell phone numbers , Child’s doctor and phone number , Allergies
