St. Rufael
On the 8th of September we celebrate the annual feast of the Archangel Raphael. St. Raphael in our church is known as the angel who heals and open the wombs of the barren. Normally, when one is sick or when trying for a baby belivers will pray for the intercessions of the archangel Raphael. On the 8th or also known as Pagumen 3rd in the Ethiopian calendar, St. Raphael was saved a certain church that was threatened to be destroyed. There was once a Church named after St. Raphael on a small island. This Church was being threatened by a huge whale that would go around the vicinity of the Church trying to destroy it. Therefore, they prayed for the intercession of St. Raphael, and he saved the Church by driving a spear into the whale commanding it to stop and now we celebrate this great archangel. Furthermore, the Holy Water of St. Raphael is also known to do amazing miracles. In Ethiopia every year on the 8th of September it is known to rain Ethiopia and people who were touched by the rain were healed and those who went to be drenched with the Holy water of St. Raphael would be healed of many sicknesses.
