There are many things you can do to improve your self esteem! Some things you can do are say positive affirmations (ex: I can do it!), celebrate your accomplishments, acknowledge and challenge negative thoughts (remember some thoughts aren't true!!), set goals, and much more!!

You can say: It was good! I did____________ this weekend? How was your weekend? 

A good way to expand a conversation is by going into more detail and asking the other person questions. Sometimes when we ask others questions it will naturally start a longer converstaion.

Other people can effect our self esteem. Some people will build you up while others may tear you down. When building friendships it's important to seek out people who will encourage you and you should do the same for other people. As a student you may not be able to control who is in your class or who goes to your school but you can control who you choose to spend the most time with.

There are many ways to start a conversation with a friend. One way is is to greet them by saying: "Hi, how are you?" the first time you see them in the day. Other ways to start a coversation might include: asking about common interests, commenting about the weather, weekend plans, ect.
