O  believers! Avoid many suspicions, ˹for˺ indeed, some suspicions are sinful. And do not spy, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of their dead brother? You would despise that!1 And fear Allah. Surely Allah is ˹the˺ Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful 49:12

"Then whoever argues with you about it after knowledge has come to you, say: ‘Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars.’"

2. Surah Al-Insan (76:8–9)

Arabic:

وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا


English:

“And they give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,

[Saying], ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.’”


3. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:207)

Arabic:

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْرِى نَفْسَهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

English:

“And among الناس is he who sells himself, seeking the pleasure of Allah. And Allah is kind to [His] servants.”


4. Surah An-Nisa (4:59)

Arabic:

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُولِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ ۖ فَإِن تَنَـٰزَعْتُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا

English:

“O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is best and most suitable for final determination.”

Surah At-Tawbah (9:119)


Arabic:

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

English:

“O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with the truthful (al-ṣādiqīn).”

When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) set out for Tabuk, he left Imam Ali (AS) behind in Medina to take care of the community. Some people spread rumors that Ali had been left behind because he was not fit for battle.

Hearing this, Imam Ali (AS) went to the Prophet and asked if he had done something wrong. The Prophet (PBUH) responded with this statement, elevating his status and clarifying that leaving him behind was an honor and a sign of trust—not a punishment.

The Hadith (Arabic):

أَمَا تَرْضَىٰ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَىٰ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

English Meaning:

“Are you not pleased that you are to me like Harun (Aaron) was to Musa (Moses), except that there is no prophet after me?”
