What is the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology?

DNA is transcribed into mRNA which brings the info to the Ribosome to be translated into a protein.

What is the controversy currently surrounding Hailey Bieber (Justin Bieber's wife)?

She dresses and poses exactly like Justin Bieber's Ex, Selena Gomez, and even copied her tattoo. She also used to be a Justin superfan and stalked him as a teenager

What is the portion of DNA that tells a protein how to get made called?

Coding Sequence

300

What causes an enzyme to be non-functional?

A change in shape at the active site.

300

Why do we need RNA to make proteins?

DNA can't leave the nucleus and proteins are made outside the nucleus

List 5 differences of DNA and RNA.

- RNA has a Uracil base, DNA has Thymine

- RNA has Ribose sugar backbone, DNA has Deoxyribose

- RNA is single stranded, DNA is double stranded

- RNA can leave the nucleus

- RNA has different variations that perform different jobs.

What are the requirements for movie to pass the Bechdel Test?

1. The film must have at least two named female characters

2. These two female characters must have a conversation with each other.

3. The subject of their conversation must be something other than a man. (This means their conversation can be about anything, including other women, work, hobbies, or personal experiences, but it should not be focused on or about a man)

Name all 5 Steps for how a protein gets made

1) Regulatory Protein must binds to a Regulatory Sequences so that the DNA coding sequence can be read
2) RNA Polymerase enzyme unwinds DNA and starts making a complimentary mRNA strand
3) Once the mRNA strand is made it will go out to the cytoplasm and to a Ribosome
4) In the Ribosome corresponding tRNA molecules (with correct anti-codon) will attach to the mRNA.
5) The tRNA has an Amino Acid attached to it which will combine with other Amino Acids as the tRNA’s bring them in. The attached Amino Acids form a Protein

Explain how an animal becomes albino

Colorless molecules are not given pigment due to a pigment enzyme becoming non-functional.

500

Explain the function of tRNA and how it does its job

tRNA's job is to bring Amino Acids to the Ribosome so it can bind with other Amino Acids and create a Protein. It binds to mRNA by having an Anticodon that is complimentary to the codon of the mRNA its attaching to. Adjacent tRNA's that are attached to mRNA then join their Amino Acids together to make a protein
