what are abutments and pontics?
Abutments are the structure that supports the dental bridge and pontics are the artifical teeth that will replace the missing ones.
What is the procedure for fillings?
apply numbing gel, inject local anesthesia, use drill or other tool to remove decayed area, fill hole with amalgam or a composite substance, and polish and adjust filling
Why might someone need veneers?
Chipped/broken teeth, abnormal/small teeth, teeth stains, and gaps between teeth.
What does omnichroma do?
it uses nanotech to color match with the teeth by reflecting light within the mouth
What is the difference between composite white filling and silver amalgam filling?
composite white filling is not paid by insurance since it is considered a cosmetic, but silver filling is paid for; silver fillings last longer than composite fillings; composite fillings require a specific white color to match the rest of the teeth while silver fillings don't.
What does it take to be a Prosthodontist?
Graduate high school, obtain a bachelors degree, take the dental school admission exam, attend dental school and earn your DMD and DDS, take the national dental and clinical exam, obtain a state license, attend prosthodontist training and residency, and earn a board certification.
