What is Mystery fiction?
Text that provides facts about a topic or variety of topics such as sports, animals, weather, countries, space, travel, etc.
What is Informational Non-Fiction?
A building or room containing collections of books for people to borrow.
What is a library?
Holds the covers and inside of a book together.
What is the spine?
The person who writes the words in a book.
Who is the Author?
A story including elements that are impossible, such as talking animals or magical powers.
What is Fantasy fiction?
A story of a real person's life written by that person.
What is Autobiography?
A person who manages the care of a library.
What is a librarian?
A list of words with their definitions found at the back of a book.
What is the glossary?
The person who draws or creates the pictures in a book.
Who is the Illustrator?
A type of fantasy that blends futuristic technology with science fact, and fiction (time travel, robots, etc.).
What is Science fiction?
Verse written to create a response from the reader. Often incorporating elements such as rhythm, rhyme, and figurative language.
What is Poetry?
A tool used to save the place of a book when you take it off the shelf so you know where to return the book to.
What is a Shelf Marker?
Typically the first page in a book, tells who the author and illustrator are along with the title of the book.
What is the Title Page?
A particular style of literature such as fantasy, poetry, mystery, etc.
What is Genre?
A story using made up characters and sometimes settings but could happen in real life.
What is Realistic fiction?
Stories that are passed down from one group to another in history. This includes fairy tales, fables, myths, legends, and tall tales from different cultures.
