Globe Definition
Spherical representation of the earth.
Advantage of globe= almost perfect accuracy
The distance north or south of the equator, measured in degrees

Advantages of GIS and GPS over paper maps and globes
More accurate, more complete info, and more up to date.
Relief maps
Physical maps that show specific changes in elevation

Tropics: Warm/Humid

Map Definition
Generally flat representation of parts or all of the earth
Advantage of map=more detailed than a globe

0 degree longitude line and the 180 degree longitude line, divides the earth into the eastern and western hemispheres
Thematic Map
Maps that show gathered information about a region or nations climate, population, or resources.
Contour lines
Lines that show one specific elevation on a relief map
