How can we learn about other planets by studying Earth?

We can study Earth and compare it's geosphere with what we already know about planets. For an example, geologists go to Arizona to study it's geosphere because it is very similar to the surface of Mars.

bio - living

geo - related to Earth

Atmo - gases

Hydro - water

What is an example of a limitation of our water / lava models? And how can we improve this model?

The sand does not accurately represent the geosphere that surrounds the channel. We can improve this model by adding different size sand, different size rocks etc.
