What is "venting"?
A way to cope with stress/negative emotions by telling someone about what happened or is happening.
Are school counselors in charge of discipline?
No, that is the job of teachers and school administrators but sometimes we assist admin with it when needed.
How do I report something without other students knowing about it?
Ask your teacher to see Ms. March or just tell Ms. March when you have a chance (at busses or ask to have lunch with Ms. March to discuss what is going on)
How many years have I worked at a school?

Does the counselor keep what I say private?
Yes! Unless you are in danger of being hurt or someone else is in danger of being hurt or you are going to hurt yourself or you say I can tell!
Besides students, who does your counselor work with?
Teachers, administrators, school staff, parents, and community members.
Will my counselor tell my teacher if I have any complaints about a class or conflict with a teacher?
No unless you say it's okay!
How do I set up a time to meet with the counselor?
Ask your teacher if you need to go to the counselor and for older students fill out the counselor form

Do you have to be going through a major crisis to see your counselor?
Counselors support ALL students whether they need a lot or a little help.
What are some ways your counselor can help you when you're feeling anxious?
Talking it through, breathing exercises, fidgets, and practicing coping skills.
