A way to cope with stress/negative emotions by telling someone about what happened or is happening.
Are school counselors in charge of discipline?
No, that is the job of teachers and school administrators.
How do I report something without other students knowing about it?
Ask your teacher to see Mrs. Martin.

Does the counselor keep what I say private?
Yes! Unless you are in danger of being hurt or someone else is in danger of being hurt or you are going to hurt yourself.

Will my counselor tell my teacher if I have any complaints about a class or conflict with a teacher?
Your counselor will not tell your teacher without your permission.
If I need to speak with the counselor, how do I set up a time to see her?
You can either tell me you need to see me or ask your teacher to let me know you want to see me.

Keeping conversations between people private. Not telling others what was said unless absolutely necessary.

Feelings, problems, difficulty at home, grief, transitions, school, friendships, anxiety, lots of things!
What are some ways to help you calm down when you're feeling anxious?
Talking it through, breathing exercises, fidgets, taking a break, and practicing coping skills.
How often does the school counselor come to the class for counseling time?
Once a week!
