A fantasy story where the characters are Animals who act like human beings.

What does Sequence of Events mean?
The order that things in the story happen.
Why do we need a Problem and Solution?
Without it the story is not interesting.
What is Fantasy?
Fantasy is any story with lots of imaginary things (dragons, fairies, etc.)
What is a diary?
A Diary is a notebook where someone writes about what happened to them that day.
Why do people always say thank you to Suki in "Thank You Suki?"
They say thank you because she is always working hard to make people happy.
What is Cause and Effect in a story?
What causes something to happen and what happens as a result of that.
What is a Text Feature? What is a Graphic Feature?
Text Features are special words.
Graphic Features are the pictures in the reading.
What is a fable?
A Fable is a simple story with animal characters that teaches a lesson.
What is a newspaper article?
A Newspaper is a collection of articles about things that happened in the world. It is made every day.
What do all animals have in common?
They all need to eat and drink; they all move, they all need a home, etc.
What is a Summary?
Retelling the story again using just the important parts.
We need to know which parts of the story are about the Main Idea and which are not.
What is Realistic Fiction?
Realistic Fiction is a fiction story that could happen in real life.
What is a Guidebook?
A Guidebook is a book that gives information about where to go and what to do; or about information about some subject (animals, plants, places)

Synthesis is using all the reading skills together to find the Main Idea.

Evaluating is deciding what we learned about the reading and what we think about it.

A Fairy tale where some detail has been changed.

A Science Journal is a book someone (usually a kid) writes in to keep track of what they learn about some science subject.
