What is Measurement?
Producing ideas and products that have not existed before
What is originality?
Evaluating student learning through the use of student portfolios, performance, or observation in place of or in conjunction with more traditional measures of performance such as tests and written assignments
What is authentic assessment?
The SEM is essentially the reliability of an instrument
What is standard error of measurement (SEM)?
An assessment that compares a student’s test performance to his or her mastery of a body of knowledge or specific skill rather than relating scores to the performance of other students
What is criterion referenced?
Refers to the repeat-ability and stability of scores
What is reliable?
An assessment that compares an individual’s results with a large group of individuals who have taken the same assessment
What is norm- referenced?
An instructional strategy where students are grouped together to receive appropriately challenging instruction. True flexible grouping permits students to move in and out of various grouping patterns
What is flexibility?
The extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure
What is valid?
Ability to read text or converse with others accurately and quickly
What is fluency?
Represents a judgement or determination of value( effective or ineffective, or below, at, or above grade level) is placed on some performance
What is evaluation?
Test designed to measure what student’s test performance to his or her mastery of a body knowledge or specific skill rather that relating scores to the performance of other students
What is achievement test?
Students shall score at or above the 96th percentile on a composite or full scale score or appropriate component score. Test that measure intelligence or cognitive ability
What is mental ability test?
Any student who meets the initial eligibility criteria in this rule for gifted education services in one LEA shall be considered eligible to receive gifted education services in any LEA within the state
What is reciprocity?
The ability to add new ideas to existing ideas- striving for excellence and perfection
