Think about how else the passage could have ended. Write your new ending.

Any ending that stays on topic will do. Below is an example.

Ricky sat and thought about all of his choices of where he could move to. None of those choices were going to be a good place. So he came up with a plan to be able to stay. He was going to show the dog that he could not chase him anymore. First, he went and got all of his raccoon friends and then they all dug big holes in the yard. Ricky thought if there were lots of holes the dog couldn't run and chase him anymore. Ricky said to them, "This is going to be great!" They all sat in the tree and watched as the dog struggled to run around in the yard because of all the holes. Ricky decided to test it out. He went through the yard and just as the dog started chasing him, the dog fell into the holes. He fell in one right after the other. Ricky looked at his friends and said, "We did it! Problem solved!" The next day he saw that the dog was so sad. He just sat on the porch watching Ricky walk around. Ricky wasn't as happy about this as he thought he would be. So, he went over to the dog and said, "Why are you so sad?" The dog said, "I cannot have fun anymore because of all  the holes." Ricky said, "Well, we dug them because you were always chasing me and I wanted you to stop." The dog said, "I was only chasing you because I wanted to be your friend." Ricky was so surprised. He thought the dog was trying to catch him and eat him. So he left and he came up with another plan. This time he and his raccoon friends buried all the holes. The next day the dog was so happy and began chasing Ricky again, but this time Ricky ran around smiling because he had made a new friend. Now he had a friend and he didn't have to move. He was happy!
