a) Shatter is harder to handle since it's brittle and glass-like while waxes tend to be the consistency of thick coconut oil and can be easily manipulated. Shatter may even be transparent and comparable to rock-candy.
b) Extraction that produces wax will use less heat than one that produces shatter. It will also mix the concentrate much more aggressively for wax than shatter.

Solvent-Based Extraction: this method uses volatile (easily evaporated) chemicals to dissolve the trichomes from the plant material. Then, the solvent is then removed, which leaves behind an extract like shatter, wax or vape oil. These are called extracts. One advantage of this extraction method is that it can be manipulated to isolate specific cannabinoids such as THC or CBD.
Solventless Based Extraction: Also known as a mechanical extraction, these methods don’t use chemicals. Instead, the trichomes are beaten, rubbed or pressed from the plant, resulting in a concentrate like kief, hash or rosin. One advantage of this extraction method is that it leaves more of the original cannabinoids intact and unaltered by chemicals, creating a more natural product.

How do edibles work in the body once ingested?
