The official peace treaty that was signed in Versailles, France.

The Treaty of Versailles punished Germany for its role in starting the war. Germany lost about 10% of its lands. It had to pay back war costs to the Allied Powers. 

The treaty also called for creating a League of Nations. The League’s member nations would work together for peace.
