What is Democracy?

The role of the government is to organize and manage a country or community so that society functions smoothly and citizens’ needs are met. Governments have several key responsibilities: 'Set goals and make policies for the good of the country.
'Make and enforce laws.
'Enforce compliance with laws and regulations.
What is legislative:
relating to the branch of government that has power to make laws.
What is government?
The body responsible for managing a county's goals & for regulating the activities of a society.
Roles of Executive
1. Enforce laws – make sure laws are carried out.
2. Run the government – manage daily administration and public services.
3. Lead the country – set policies and guide national direction.
4. Command the military – ensure national defense.
5. Represent the nation – handle foreign relations and treaties.
The executive carries out laws, runs the government, leads the country, and represents it internationally.
What is Bicameral?
having two separate chambers or houses, especially in a legislature (law-making body).
Examples: Antiqua and Barbuda, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.

What is executive?

What is Unicameral?
Unicameral describes a legislative system that has only one chamber or house responsible for making laws.
EX; St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica.

What are Members of Parliament?
Members of Parliament (MPs) are individuals elected by citizens to represent their interests in a country’s legislative body, known as Parliament. They serve as a link between the people and the government, representing the views and needs of their constituents in parliamentary discussions.
Role of Judiciary

Protect rights – ensure citizens’ rights are upheld.
Ensure fairness – make sure laws are applied equally to everyone

3 Similarities
1️⃣ The Crown as Head of State
All three systems recognize the British monarch (The Crown) as the official head of state.
2️⃣ Presence of a Governor
In each system, a Governor (or Governor-General) represents the Crown.
3️⃣ Formal System of Laws and Government
All three systems operate with established laws and an organized government structure.
2 Differences
1️⃣ Level of Local Representation
Old Representative System – Had an elected assembly, but voting was limited to wealthy landowners.
Crown Colony System – Very little or no elected representation; the Governor had most of the power.
Constitutional Monarchy – Citizens elect representatives who form the government.
2️⃣ Who Holds Real Power
Old Representative – Power was shared between the elected assembly and the Governor.
Crown Colony – The Governor (appointed by the Crown) had most of the authority.
Constitutional Monarchy – Real power lies with elected officials (Prime Minister and Parliament); the monarch’s role is mostly ceremonial.
