IF + past simple, WOULD + verb 1
I was watching TV when my friend has called me.

When do we use the third conditional?
We use the third conditional to talk about imaginary situations in the past and their hypothetical results
Is this sentence correct:
I would go to the cinema, if I had enough money.
NO: when you start the sentence with would, you don't need the comma
She had already left when we arrived at the station.

We would have gone to the beach if it didn’t rain yesterday.
WRONG - if it hadn't rained

NO - it's third conditional.
