1. Gewoontes aangeven;
2. Feiten aangeven.
Wanneer gebruik je de past simple?
Bij feiten, gebeurtenissen en gewoontes in het verleden die helemaal afgelopen zijn.
Waarom kun je yesterday niet gebruiken met the present perfect?
De present perfect heeft nog effect op het heden. Yesterday geeft aan dat het voorbij is.
Welke tijd wordt bijna altijd gecombineerd met the past perfect?
Past simple
Kies de juiste vorm en leg uit:

A, hier wordt duidelijk aangetoont wat eerst gebeurde en wat daarna door gebruik te maken van de past perfect en past simple.
Corrigeer de fout(en):

He doesn't understand the guest's complaint, because the hotel doesn't provide the service.

B, met een vorm van 'did' gebruik je het hele werkwoord.
Wat is het verschil in betekenis?
A) “The guest has complained about the noise.”
B) “The guest complained about the noise.”
Bij B is de klacht opgelost, bij A is het nog bezig.
Combineer tot één correcte zin:
“The guests complained.”
“The housekeeping team had cleaned the room.”

Maak een bevestigende, ontkennende en vragende zin in de present simple met het volgende werkwoord: ''provide''
Bijv:
- He provides us with information
- Does he provide us with information?
- He doesn't provide us with information.
Verbeter de zin en leg uit wat er mis is:
“Yesterday, I have spoken to the manager.”
Hier wordt de present perfect gebruikt, terwijl het gaat om iets wat nu niet meer van toepassing is. Zie het woord ''yesterday''.
Maak één zin met present perfect waarin duidelijk is dat een actie invloed heeft op de huidige situatie in het hotel.
