Active Voice: The subject is the "doer" of the action.

Passive Voice: "Who" or "what" causes the action is unknown. The object of the active voice becomes the subject of the sentence in the passive voice, and the emphasis is now on the "new subject". The "agent" may be dropped or omitted from the sentence if the agent is weak.
