What is the difference between social, honors, and professional Greek Organizations?
Social: A fraternity or sorority that is based on making personal connections with people of similar values Honors: A fraternity or sorority that is based on recognizing and encouraging academic achievement Professional: A fraternity or sorority that based on a specific area of study and helps make contacts in that field

Under what circumstances is hazing tolerated in Greek Organizations at the University of Southern New Hampshire University?
NEVER! Hazing is defined as any action or situation, with or without consent of the participants, which recklessly, intentionally, or unintentionally endangers the mental, physical, academic, health or safety of a student. This includes, but is not limited to any situation which: Creates a risk of injury to any individual or group Causes discomfort to any individual or group Causes embarrassment to any individual or group Involves harassment of any individual or group Involves degradation of any individual or group Involves humiliation of an individual or group Involves ridicule of an individual or group Involves or includes the willful destruction and/or removal of public or private property for the purpose of initiation or admission into or affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in any organization. What is the difference between Philanthropy and Service?
Philanthropy is raising money for a cause or organization. Each chapter has local and national philanthropies that they support and raise money for. Service is actively participating in an event or project that benefits the community. Each chapter is responsible for community service hours.

You can start by talking to your professor. Having a relationship with your professor will keep you from being just another name and could increase your chances of doing well in the class by showing your effort. If you need a tutor and want to check out extra resources, The Learning Center provides extra help for students.

When someone says you are always representing your organization, what do they mean?
Every action you take is a reflection on your organization, be it good or bad. If you wear your letters to a community service project, you are representing your chapter. If you are drinking underage, whether you are wearing your letters or not, you are representing your chapter. If you speak badly about another organization or person, you represent your chapter. If you decide to be positive everyday, you are representing your chapter. What would your founder's think?
