- patient education like hand exercises and not touching dressing until dr review
- observe for bruising
what are nursing considerations for post op hand surgery?
- sinusitis, allergies, nasal septum deviated, nasal cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, sinus polyops, nasal polyops
what are some health related conditions of the nose?
heart rhythm characterised by irregular and rapid electrical impulses in atria (tachycardia)
what is atrial fribrilation?
when the bone partially fractures on one side but does not break completely, causes bone to be bent
greenstick fracture
repair of fractured cheek
zygomatic/trimalar fracture
secretes hormones that control the release of hormones in pituitary glands. controls water balance, sleep, temperature, appetite and blood pressure
function of hypothalmus
- when other treatment options have failed (last resort)
- insufficient sleep due to nerve pain leading to deterioration
- neurological disturbance such as incontinence
when would spinal surgery be needed?
less common but severe form, symptoms such as severe headache, severe eye pain, nausea & vomiting, blurred vision, halos/ coloured rings around lights, eye redness, intraocular pressure
acute angle-closure glaucoma
shortness of breath, dyspnea, chest pain, one sided chest wall movement/ breath sounds,
clinical presentation of pneumothorax
