What is a simple sentence

A sentence that contains only one independent clause. It has a subject and a predicate with no additional clause.

A sentence that contains 2 or more independent clauses that are connected with a coordinating conjunction or a semicolon.

Sentences that give a command/make a request. They usually end with a period or an exclamation point.
