Yes, please do! Just know if my door is shut it means I'm helping someone else.
Do you tell my friends or other students??
Nope, never. If you are worried about being pulled from class I can work with your teacher and find a solution.

1. Take a deep breath
2. Remember that this is temporary.
3. I am still a child of God even if others are not treating me like one.

Do you tell my teachers?
If I feel like speaking with your teacher would be beneficial for you, we talk about it.
*I do tell your teacher if you are in danger or if they are worried about you(sorry, not sorry).
Ms. Funk's in my class, am I in trouble?
Nope! Sometimes I'm teaching your class a mental health tip or observing.
What if I need counseling services outside of school?
We will discuss this and I can help you get resources to find a counselor outside of school. (Some of them are free!)
Counseling is confidential except...

2. Planning or currently hurting others
3. Others are hurting me
My friend said she wants to hurt herself, what do I do?
Tell a teacher or the school counselor right away! A good friend protects their friends.
I'm having a crisis on the weekend!
School Counseling services are not available on the weekends. If you or a loved one need help dial 911 or utilize the Colorado Crisis Services walk-in clinic
What if you have to share something I do not want you to share?
I do have to share, because I care about you too much to leave you managing something that is hurting you.
We will walk through sharing that thing together. However, I will not share anything with anyone who does not need to know.
I want to hurt myself or others...
Takes a lot of courage, but please come find me. Getting you help is something I am so happy to do. You do not have to suffer alone.
Why does Ms. Funk work as a school counselor?
Because helping students see that they are so loved is one of my favorite things.
They are also so cool, why wouldn't I want to hang out with you all?
