It is smooth and creamy and this food is often sold in a cup or a tub. Sometime it has strawberries, blueberries, or peaches mixed right in. At snack time or at breakfast, use a spoon to scoop it straight into your mouth or turn it into a parfait with layers of crunchy granola and fresh fruit.

It is not spices but they can add a lot of spice to a dish. They generally refers to the leafy green or flowering parts of a plant (either fresh or dried), while spices are usually dried and produced from other parts of the plant, including seeds, bark, roots and fruits.

This pinkish fish rhymed with "canon" and is a popular food in places like Alaska and Norway. It is usually sold whole or in fillets. But sometimes it is mashed and turned into burgers. You can find it fresh or in the frozen food aisle.

It can be many shapes and many colors, taste in vastly different ways and be used in many different dishes. You can eat most types of bread or with fruit as a snack. Some are blue others are white, yellow, red and even green or dotted.
They may smell mild or strong.

Cheese

This food goes by many different names: Kidney, lima, black, fava, pinto and adzuki, to name a few! You can find them in colorful cans down one of the middle aisles.

Canned beans

they are shiny red and very sour if you eat them before they are ripe. They sit in clusters on a bush and are not very large. They are good as a topping on yoghurt and desserts. If you shake them hard enough, they can be used instead of jam.

It is large or small, available in many shapes and sizes. it is orange and is used both in food, desserts and as decorations especially in November. You can buy them as puree and on can in the supermarket. Cinderella ran in one when she was going to the ball.

Pumpkin

It is "white" and you can have both whole and parted, eg breast, fillet, thighs and wings. It has a mild taste. The flesh on the thighs is tender and tastes of more than the breast. It can be eaten whole roasted, stewed, oven roasted, fried on the pan, boiled or grilled. It can be adapted to the seasons: Eat it with rhubarb compote in summer and root vegetables in winter. It is often used in curry but can also be marinated in yoghurt and get extra tender meat. The mild meat sticks to it all and gratefully accepts extra flavor. You can buy it frozen or fresh.

It has a high content of protein, is lean, ie. it does not contain much fat.
It is prized for its sour but mild taste and for its distinctive gritty texture.

A few spoonfuls freshen up on the baked potato or in a sandwich. Use it in bread dough, pies and cheese cakes. Or put your own stamp on it by adding e.g. chopped red onion, chives, tomatoes and herbs in. or enjoy it with smoked salmon, avocado, or with fruit as a snack.

Cottage Cheese

These are tiny. They can be used to baking or making porridges. They are highly versatile. They can be soaked and added to porridge, made into pudding, used in baked goods, or simply sprinkled on top of salads or yogurt. Because of their ability to absorb liquid and form a gel, they can also be used to thicken sauces or as an egg replacement.

It is made from soybeans, and is made in almost the same way as cheese. it is of Chinese origin. Nutritionally, it is low in calories, while containing a relatively large amount of protein. It is high in iron, and can have a high calcium or magnesium

It is a dairyproduct. It has to be served cold otherwise it will melt. You can make your own healthier version from frozen fruits by using a blender.
