Short-term goals happen in the immediate or close to near future, such as: I hope to get all A's and B's this year each quarter.


Long-term goals are goals for the future that are farther away. For example, my long-term goal is getting into NYU. 


Short-term goals are often used to accomplish long-term goals.

How do you measure exactly one gallon using only the 3-gallon and 5-gallon buckets to measure the milk?

Fill the 3-gallon bucket with milk, pour it into 5-gallon. Now refill 3-gallon buket and pour into 5-gallon again. When 5-gallon is full, one gallon will be left in the 3-gallon bucket.
