Speak with managers, not with the team of interest.

A Patient should be weighed while already being handled for additional treatments, not solely for weighing alone.

After a triage shift, how quickly should you go about SCHEDULING a DVM exam. 

Orthopedic Case= IMMEDIATELY after triage exam (before you leave clinic) 

*DVM will peform exam within 24h if you are unable to physically be there

Non-Orthopedic Case= Sometime during the day of your triage. 

**DVM will peform exam within 48h if you are unable to physically be there

Medication and feeding quantity/frequency prescriptions should be edited as needed.

What are three reasons for considering euthanasia of an avian species?

* Part of a wing missing/ amputated.

*Waterfowl with a full foot amputation.

*Raptors missing digit 1 or 2. 

*Birds missing a large section of the bony part of their beak. 

*Diurnal raptors, Columbiformes, passerines, seabirds missing vision in either eye.

How do you go about navigating a drug error?

Carnivores/Mesocarnivores. 

*Adult raccoons need to be sedated before handling. 

*Sedation requests need Manager/DVM approval.

If a Caller is hostile/ making you uncomfortable, how can you go about removing yourself from the situation?

Let the caller know your manager will get back to them later. Let manager know to call back. Put a note in the hotline section for future reference.

What are the steps to take during an interpersonal conflict between team leaders, members, or between teams? 

Initially, attempt to resolve between involved parties. *(let managers know about conflict so we have a history)

If it is not resolved, come to managers so we can intervene.

*Patient injuries to keep in mind when handling

*Imprinting protocol

How often should a SOAP be performed, and what should be included within each section. I am NOT looking for what each letter stands for. 

SOAP should be made at least once a day for each patient. 

S: Subjective information like mentation, or stress/pain

O: Obective information like F+U+, LO's, or location of pt. 

A: Original reason for pt. presentation and current problems

P: Future plans for patient (transfer, release, future diagnostics/exams).

What are locations to administer pentobarbitol (other than IC) in turtles, snakes, and amphibians?

Turtles: Dorsal tail vein, jugular vein, brachial vein, subcarapacial sinus.

Snakes: Ventral tail vein.

Amphibians: Intracoelomic.
