What creepy and spooky practice did early physical therapists and other medical providers do to help them gain knowledge?

Grave robbing or "body snatching"

In the early days of medical research and anatomy studies, physicians and anatomists resorted to grave robbing to obtain bodies for dissection and study. This practice, known as "body snatching" or "resurrectionists," was particularly common in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Due to a shortage of legally acquired cadavers for medical education and research, medical students and practitioners sometimes engaged in the illicit act of exhuming recently buried bodies from cemeteries. This practice continued until the introduction of legislation and ethical guidelines for body donation and the development of anatomy acts, which allowed for the legal procurement of cadavers for medical purposes.

Who said.... "This is usually revolving for me. Currently, I find teaching members to perform hip internal rotation stretch is helping some back pain. This stretch helps to stretch the psoas, as well as the hip joint. Basically you are lying on your back, legs in hooklying, either foot out to the edge of the mat. Rock both knees towards one side, and then to the other.  5-8 reps to warm up the hip joint, and then hold for 30 seconds. You can add the other leg for overpressure. This is a fairly new stretch for me, and just shows we are always learning!"
