ARD committee can proceed IF the school has made multiple documented attempts to involve the parent (e.g., phone calls, emails, certified letters). However, parent input is still critical and should be sought beforehand.

What are the components of a well-written IEP goal?

Specific: Clearly define the skill or behavior to be achieved. Measurable: Include criteria to evaluate progress (e.g., percentage, frequency, duration). Achievable: Be realistic given the student’s current abilities.
