What is character?
Written when students do something good- academic or behavior- and read on the morning announcements.
What is a shoutout?
A place in the classroom students can go when they have big emotions or need to calm down.
What is the calm corner?
Typically held the day before Thanksgiving break- you might win a turkey or pie.
What is The Gobble Off?
21 is the number of levels in this popular reading program students use daily.
What is Lexia?
We use this skill when we think carefully, ask good questions and look at all of the facts.
What is Critical Thinking?
Written when students go above and beyond- a phone call is made to parents.
What is a positive referral?
Drain, S.T.A.R, pretzel and balloon are all examples of this.
What are breathing techniques?
A fun spring tradition in May with games, food, and bounce houses.
What is the PTA carnival?
49 is the target number of minutes students should complete in this program each week.
What is Ready Math- My Path?
Sharing our ideas clearly and listening to others.
Communication
The class with the best manners and procedures in the cafe earns this.
What is the Golden Dustpan Award?
Fill this out when you go to buddy room or recovery room to "think" about choices.
What is a think sheet?
Hawks give back during this week by collecting money and donations for local businesses.
What is the Charity Drive?
It is very important that ALL 3rd graders (or 2nd graders) pass this test.
What is IREAD?
Using our imagination and trying new ideas to help us solve problems.
What is Creativity & Innovation?
When a student does not miss any days of school and is not late.
What is perfect attendance?
The set of rules that all FWCS students must follow.
What is Code of Conduct?
You might hear this chant in December during the charity drive celebration. (Please chant it like you mean it.)

3rd, 4th and 5th graders show everything they know on this important state test in May.

Setting goals, making good choices, and showing perseverance.
