What is curriculum fidelity?
Our primary curriculum is Creative Curriculum and must be followed according to the instructions. It is not okay to pick and choose parts of it to implement.

What is the family partnership agreement (FPA)?
The FPA is completed by the Family Educator if the family has a child enrolled in the home-based program and the Family Partnership Coordinator and/or Specialist if not. Each family completes only one FPA, even if they have more than one child in the program. Children not enrolled in a Head Start or Early Head Start/OPK slot will not be asked to complete an FPA.
What is the Health Services Advisory Committee?
Health Services Advisory Committee is required by the HSPPS. It consists of community providers that can guide us in decision making when it comes to health issues. Usually includes multiple representatives from the clinic including doctors, nurses, pharmacy, dental hygienist, etc.

What is the number of hours required for annually professional development?
All training must be uploaded into ORO for tracking purposes. It is simple to snap a picture and upload from your phone. You can also mail documents in if necessary. This method allows you to maintain ownership of your training file and it will be available to you in the event that you leave our employment. I will request your Professional Development Statement 4 times per year. This is a document that you download from ORO and send to me and Sommer. Each time this is requested you will need to count up all the hours that you have completed during the calendar year and include the total in the email you send to Sommer and I.
This is how often we must perform playground safety checks.
What is daily?
Daily playground checks are required by the HSPPS. Prior to Covid the Kwis Kwis team conducted the checks. This past year it was the bus drivers. This inspection is different that the monthly inspections of our facilities and must be done before outdoor time.

What is the requirement for completing developmental screenings?
We complete the ASQ and ASQ S/E for each child within 45 days of their start date, in collaboration with the child's parent/care giver. Other screenings are completed in a doctor's office, dentist's office or during our screening week (hearing, vision, etc).

What is the Parent, Family and Community Engagement framework?
The PFCE framework specifies 7 family outcomes to promote positive child outcomes. These include Family Well-being, Positive Parent-Child Relationships, Families as Lifelong Learners, Families as Lifelong Educators, Family Engagement in Transitions, Connections to Peers and Community and Families as Advocates and Leaders.
What to do if you are injured on the job.
What is notify your supervisor via email immediately, complete a CTGR incident report within 48 hours and see a doctor within 5 calendar days if necessary.
The form can be found on the SharePoint page and it is titled Worker's Comp Incident Report. It is not the same as a child's incident report in Child Plus. Please report any injury, no matter how small.
The basis for considering confidentiality among co-workers.
What is need to know?
Some information is necessary for others to know in order to perform their duties. If it is not a part of their duties, they do not need to know and sharing is a violation of the confidentiality policy.

Where is the P: drive, Policies and Procedures?
Every policy and procedure is located on the shared P: drive. There you can find all procedures for how and when to report staff injuries or exposure to bodily fluids.
Staff injuries and accidents are not the same as child incidents and injuries which are documented in Child Plus. Employees have rights after an injury and you must follow reporting procedures to protect those rights.

What is an IFSP?
The Individual Family Service Plan outlines the child's goals and the service providers responsibilities (WESD and our preschool teachers). WESD has the legal obligation to service children in the least restrictive environment, in most cases, our classrooms.
Who to refer a family to if they need support or resources outside our program.
Who is the Family Educator or the Family Partnership Coordinator.
The Family Educator will take the lead with any family that is enrolled in the home-based program and Family Partnerships will take the lead for all other families.
This is what to do after cleaning up vomit or blood.
What is put soiled clothing in a labeled ziploc, place trash in a red trash bag and notify housekeeping so they can pick it up and thoroughly disinfect the area.
Children cannot wear clothing with dried blood or any other bodily fluid. This is why we ask that all parents leave a change of clothes here at the school. Occasionally, we will have spare clothing in the laundry room for children that need to change, but if we don't their parents must bring clothes or pick their child up. Housekeeping can be notified by Sommer or Tracy using housekeeping dayshift email.

What is complete the Training Request Form and attach a document that describes the training (including date and cost).

Who are the Tribal Council and the Policy Council?
These two bodies together oversee the operation of our programming, our budget, our grant application, our policies and procedures, and program structure.
The Policy Council is made of primarily of program parents and two community members elected by all program parents. The Tribal Council is elected by the members of the Tribe and as the grant recipient they have ultimate authority and responsibility.

Our school readiness goals are divided into 5 domains consistent with the State's Early Learning standards as well as the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF). Progress toward meeting these goals are measured in TS Gold child outcomes and share with parents/care givers

What is the daily health check?
Even before Covid we were required by the HSPPS to perform daily health checks. These checks include monitoring for illness and general well being. Even if a child is not required to go home, you should note any observations in Child Plus.

What is a Professional Development Plan?
Each position requires a minimum educational credential. For entry positions this might be a high school diploma. For other positions, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is required within 2 years of hire. The Professional Development Plan is a document outlining how you plan to achieve this within 2 years.

What is the maximum time for the bus route?
HSPPS requires this. The clock starts ticking in the morning with the first pick up. Since our bus riders must be seated in a harness, each stop takes a considerable amount of time. This is why we cannot go door to door and instead rely on multiple group stops and also why we can't extend our bus routes to far away rural locations.

What is CLASS?
CLASS is a requirement of the HSPPS and is monitored by the Office of Head Start. Each classroom is observed and scored for the three domains listed in the question. Unofficial observations are conducted internally and/or by Preschool Promise. These observations are to guide our professional development and improve the quality of teacher/child interactions

What is Trauma Informed Practice?
Being trauma informed is integral to our work, and we do it usually without knowing it. But sometimes, we may not recognize how our policies, procedures or practices unintentionally create barriers for people with past trauma. We've done a lot of training on trauma in the past but it's been absent from our vocabulary for a while, so expect to hear more about this.

What are the Right person, medication, dose, time and route?
Every staff member is required to complete Medication Administration training annually. We try not to adminster medications at school but it is sometimes necessary. If a child needs to take a medication at school the parent must bring it in and complete the necessary paperwork. It cannot be sent with the child on the bus.

The Tribe offers a generous EAP to assist with many personal topics. This is one way to support the mental health of employees but also offers experts on many other home and family matters.
Steps to you take if you suspect child abuse or neglect
What is make a report to the appropriate agency?
The appropriate agency is the Tribe's CFS department for any child enrolled in Grand Ronde or eligible to be enrolled and the state hotline for all other children. After the report you must complete the Report Form, give it to the Manager and notify your supervisor. An employee does not ask permission to make a report.
