What is arterial insufficiency?
Is is important to do this assessment technique prior to any others that would stimulate, or disturb, gastrointestinal motility.
What is auscultation?
Test done when reflexes are hyperactive. In this test, the lower leg is supported, and the foot is briskly dorsiflexed & held in flexed position. A positive finding is repeated muscular movements of calf & foot. Indicative of upper motor neuron disease.
What is clonus?
This type of testing is done, in conjunction with ROM testing, where resistance is applied to the movement.

Abnormal posturing seen in brain injury patients, in which arms & legs push out. Indicative of pressure on the brain stem, and a late sign of increased ICP.
What is decerebrate rigidity?
The joint movement being tested when a person places both hands behind his/her head.

What is BRCA1 & BRCA2?
This type of insufficiency causes diabetic ulcers.
What is arterial insufficiency?
This leg should be used when performing an iliopsoas muscle test.
What is the right leg?
An assessment finding that is normal for infants up to 2-2.5 yrs/age, and adults with pyramidal tract disease; Dorsiflexion of the big toe, and fanning of all toes is done in response to someone stroking the lateral edge and ball of foot with finger or item.
What is a Babinski reflex?
This type of test is done to determine if someone has a meniscal tear.

A condition caused by RA, in which there is hyperextension of the proximal interphalangeal joints, & flexion of the distal interphalangeal joints of the fingers.
What is Swan-Neck or Boutonniere Deformity?
A maneuver performed on a male testicular exam if swelling or a mass is noted. This maneuver is performed in a darkened room with a bright light.
What is transillumination?
