What is the difference between a panic attack and a panic disorder?
A panic attack is an event: it happens, and then it ends. It's not an ongoing thing. A person with no anxiety disorder can still have a panic attack. A panic disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. After a person has a panic attack, if they become extremely afraid of having another attack to the point that it affects their daily life, that is when it becomes a panic disorder.
