We do this to purify ourselves before we start the day and serve Hashem- just like the kohanim purified themselves before they started to serve Hashem in the Beis Hamkidash.
You don't put a holy book on the floor because of this Mitzvah.

This Rosh Hashanah mitzvah wakes us up to do Teshuvah- and return to Hashem!

I am a vowel that makes the sound AH.
We do this special Mitzvah and say this special prayer to show Hashem how much we love our fellow. It makes Hashem very happy when we love our fellow since we are all the children of Hashem.
What is giving Tzeddakah and the prayer Hareini Mekabel?
I am a Mitzvah that seems like it belongs on the "Between me and a Person" side of the tablets, but it's on the "Between me and Hashem" side.
Honoring your Parents! When honoring your parents- you're honoring Hashem- Hashem is a partner in the creation of a child.
We ask for forgiveness to Hashem and to our fellow before and on this holy holiday.
