- Egyptians were polytheistic. Their gods were false and invented by man. The Bible teaches there is only one true God

- The Egyptians believed that after death they would be judged according to their works. If their works were good enough, they would spend the afterlife in a place of peace. The Bible teaches that no one will be declared righteous before God on the basis of his or her own works and that man's eternal destiny depends on his relationship with Jesus Christ.

-Egyptians believed that they could preserves their souls and provide for them in the afterlife. They believed it was important to preserve the deceased body to preserve that person's soul. The Bible teaches the resurrection of Jesus from the dead guarantees that all who put their trust in Him will one day be raised from the dead and receive a new body like Christ's glorified body
