How can CRE negatively impact Decision Making in Football?

A fatigued player may panic or rush their decisions, resulting in mistakes such as passing to the opposition or choosing the wrong option.

When a player becomes tired, it becomes harder to focus on the game and read play effectively, which can lead to poor decisions.

Fatigue caused by low CRE can slow down reaction time, meaning the player takes longer to decide whether to pass, shoot, or move.

How can the Social factor impact any of the 4 other factors?

Good team dynamics can lead to motivating each other in high-pressure situations and can improve performance.

Communication can boost motivation and effort. Encouraging words or signalling energy levels can push teammates to maintain intensity, stamina, and speed.

Clear verbal and non-verbal communication (like calling for a pass or signalling a play) ensures that skills are executed efficiently.

  • Time zones allow you to pin point exact phases in the game where performance levels are high or low.
  • Sport Specific information is gathered which allows you to identify strengths and weakness relevant to your performance.
  • Video record of performance means you can pause the clips and rewind if you miss anything. Making data more reliable.
  • Easy to complete as headings are clear and less likely to make mistakes.
  • Easy to count ticks and crosses to collect quantitative data.

400

Name 3 reasons as to why do we monitor?

2 weaknesses/challenges of pressure drills

Players may feel anxious or overwhelmed when time, scoring, or defensive pressure is added.

Less experienced players might struggle with complex drills under pressure.

Some students may feel too pressured or self-conscious, leading to withdrawal from participation.

Strength -

  • It is easy to compare your strengths and weaknesses to a model performer.
  • You can get a motivation boost when watching a model performer as you strive to reach their level.

Challenge

  • You could lose confidence if you select an elite athlete as a model performer - they may be too far out of your reach.
  • It can be very time consuming as you must identify your own strengths and weaknesses then watch a model performer before even comparing.

Evaluate the effectiveness of your PDP (1).

  • Changed and adapted the intensity of my sessions. Effective as it mirrored the intensity of CRE within a football game.
  • Using a training diary allowed me to monitor and change my pdp if sessions weren’t working to help me adapt and reach my goals.
  • It was specific to my area of development. Meaning I always selected an approach that was specific to my development and this allowed me to be successful in reaching my goals.
  • I decided to work with a partner who was motivated and this ensured I work at the right intensity for the training approach.
  • I left enough time between training session meaning my muscles had time to recover. Meaning I did not miss a session and continued to develop my CRE at the appropriate rate.
