1) The Stock Market Crash beginning on Black Tuesday was the start of the Great Depression.

2) Bank Failures- Banks closed and could not give depositors their money back. 

3) Underconsumption- Most people could not continue to buy expensive consumer goods.  

4) Overproduction- Factories and farms made too much, and as orders slowed factories laid off workers or closed entirely.

5) High Tariffs (taxes on goods imported from other countries) hurt foreign sales.

6) Dust Bowl-During the 1930s, a severe drought affected many Great Plains states from Texas to the Dakotas.
